Radha Carman
FOUNDER & ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Radha Carman has trained in several Indian classical movement styles: Bharata Natyam, Kathakali, Mohini Attam, and the martial art, Kalari Payat. Radha directed and coordinated U.S., Central and South American tours for Mandalam incorporating these art forms. The Ballads of Northern Malabar combined dance with martial arts. The Story of Nala and Damayanti was an operatic dance drama. Divine Manifestations was an exploration of the religious history of India through dance and music. In 2005, she brought the epic poem by Tulsidas, Hanuman Chalisa, to life on stage with a troupe of 50 dancers and musicians.
K. Rajagopal
DIRECTOR OF MEDIA RELATIONS
K. Rajagopal is a media journalist who has documented politically sensitive socio-economic concerns in India. His belief in free press and his willingness to uphold issues, standing up against the corrupt power elite, have often cost him his job. Having studied in the U.S. and Berlin, Rajagopal worked as the Bureau Chief for Mathrubhumi newspaper, as News Editor for Asia Net cable network, as Chief News Editor for Kairali networks, and as professor at Pioneer Media School, Bangalore and DCSMAT Media School, Trivandrum.
R. Jayakrishnan
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS
R. Jayakrishnan is an IIT graduate and doctor of Civil Engineering who teaches at the Univ. of California, Irvine. He is currently Vice President of Kerala Hindus of North America, former President of Sree Rama Dasa Mission, USA, 2000-2002, and the Founding Editor of TennisIndia.Org Online News, 1997-2007.
N. Madhusudanan
DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL BUSINESS
N. Madhusudanan has a double masters in international and business administration from the U.S. International University San Diego, CA and the Institute of Marketing & Management, New Delhi. He has also held the post of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army from 1962-1986, and as a Geological Surveyer and Consultant in private sector jobs in Canada and the US.
ARTISTIC DIRECTORS
Sreevalsan J Menon
COMPOSER: Sreevalsan J Menon has trained in Carnatic music with the renowned musician Padmasri Neyyattinkara Vasudevan. An "A" grade artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan, Sreevalsan has composed several albums for Manorama Music including Krishna a musical reflection and Monsoon Anuraga. He has given vocal concerts on tour in USA, Canada and UAE.
Ron Carman
PLAYWRIGHT: Maya, an original dance drama, was scripted by Ron Carman in 2006. The present production is its first stage presentation. Ron has interpreted numerous mythological tales for the American stage. Among his works are, A Parade of Ants and An Idyll of Krishna.
Shreekumar S. Nair
DESIGNER
Shreekumar S. Nair is a fashion designer, a graduate of Wilson college in Mumbai. He owns Pehar Vesh, an exclusive clothing boutique in Kerala. Shreekumar has been actively involved in cultural and artistic activities since a young age, and brings his passion for the arts to Mandalam.
